Calvary Baptist Church of King North Carolina

Young at Heart

"The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing; To shew that the Lord is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him." Psalms 92:12-15 KJV

Each person in the church is vital to the health and growth of the church. The rich experience and seasoned gifts of older Christians are indispensable resources to our congregation. Our church has made a commitment to encourage the Young at Hearts and maintain their involvement in the life of the church. There's a place for you at Calvary! Ministries need your skills, abilities, and maturity!

Our Young at Heart ministry provides fellowship and friendship for our older adults. To participate in the Young at Hearts you must be fifty-five years of age or older or have a spouse in that age group. The Young at Hearts meet monthly and enjoy food, fun, and fellowship. The meetings include skits, games, devotions, and activities. The Young at Heart Choir sings on every fifth Sunday night, under the leadership of Tony Keel.

One or more trips are taken each year to nearby areas of interest, sometimes including an overnight stay. If you are interested in becoming a part of the Young of Hearts, please call our church office for the contact information of Larry and Melissa Barger, the Young At Heart leaders.
